When checking the HMRC mailbox, it is helpful to check to see if the notification has already been uploaded to the employee record, however you cant use the payroll program when the HMRC mailbox is open, so you have to close the mailbox, check the employee record and then reopen the HMRC mailbox again to apply the change if it has not already been applied.
