changing employee email process

at the moment if an employee changes their email address the process is;

change email in payroll, terminate them from portal (which is inaccurate), select reason they have left (incorrect),put in leave date (incorrect), then go to terminated employees list, delete them from that list. THEN reupload payslip. surely there's a better way.
