When onboarding a new employee it would be great if Sage could identify from the off whether the employee is not being paid minimum wage. For example. I pay an employee who is 23 years of age £20,000 per annum for 37.5 hours a week. As soon as I hit save, it would be great if Sage could flag that this is below minimum wage.
When paying a salary as opposed to an hourly rate, you tend to take the annual figure, divide it by 12 and that's the rate that you pay them. Therefore I would be paying an employee on an annual salary of £20,000, £1,666.66 per month. I would put the rate in as £1,666.66 and the hours/no is as 1 (one month's salary).
Whilst I appreciate that Sage recognises this as 1 hour at £1,666.66. I can't be the only employer that doesn't pay by the hour?
It would be great to understand how other employers who pay salaries input their employee's data and ensure that they are paying over minimum wage, without having to work it out manually?
Being that Sage is tied into HMRC legislation, it would be great if Sage could recognise and calculate from the information imputed on the employee's data card at onboarding.
