PWC have advised that displaying any salary sacrifice deduction must show on the Payments side as a negative (thus obviously reducing Gross Pay) as employees should not be confused by this. They highlighted that HMRC might challenge this if reflected in any other way.
Currently, on Online Payslips, a salsac pension deduction shows as a positive figure. This should show as a negative for accuracy and to avoid employee confusion.
A cycle2work deduction is also a salsac deduction, yet incorrectly shows on the Deduction side. This too should show as a negative on the "payment" side.
Both deductions do view as affecting the Gross on "This Payslip" figures but confusing to employees as not consistent salsac treatment or helpful in the current display format. Laser payslips show this correctly, please make Online payslips do the same
